Description:
This position is responsible for Custom (In the Ear - ITE) or Standard
(Behind the Ear - BTE) hearing aid product development and test. They must
have the ability to work with design, test, troubleshooting, documentation
and manufacturing processes and personnel.
Essential Job Functions
I. Applications Product Development, Test & Support
* Perform electro-acoustic design, test and documentation of Custom (ITE)
or Standard (BTE) products.
* Create requirements and test plans for product development and
validation.
* Transfer and support of new products into manufacturing.
* Test and analysis of hearing aid components from industry suppliers.
* Troubleshoot and resolve technical performance issues.
* Maintain and improve existing products and features.
* Technical interface between Applications Engineering and other
departments.
* Provide Hybrid and PCB development support.
* Create and approve engineering and production release documentation.
* Check and verify quality
II. International & Domestic Submissions
* Product Development & Test to International & Domestic requirements
* Maintain current information on changes to pertinent submissions.
* Develop & maintain relationships with personnel involved with submission
standards and related work within & outside of Starkey
Requirements I. Knowledge, skills and abilities required for performance
of essential duties:
* BSEE degree minimum
* Minimum of 5 years experience with analog or digital circuit design,
preferably in audio.
* General knowledge of DSP technology and ADC/DAC design required.
* General knowledge of acoustics and hearing aid design desired.
* Must have good design, troubleshooting and documentation skills with
good attention to detail.
* Must be self-motivated and able to work in fast paced, team-oriented
environment.
* Must have good verbal and written communication skills.
II. Equipment and Software Knowledge:
* Audio analyzers and oscilloscopes
* AutoCAD
* MATLAB
* IBM PC Windows or NT environment
